Good job! Not unusual for cars that have sat for a period of time. Glad to see that your staying on task... keep us posted on your progress.

Are these pumps unique to the svo or are they the same and readily available through the usual parts stores?

Later SVO's (85.5 and 86) use the same fuel pump as a 5.0 EFI; however some guys tend to upgrade to a 155lph {or higher} if they are going for higher HP (more boost / adjustable FPR). I had a 155 in my car for a few years and it wouldn't hold pressure so I ended up going back to the stock, which I believe is 88lph

Not a whole lot of progress has happened as I only get time to work on the car on the weekends but I got the new grommet for the fuel tank for the filler neck as well as the new motor for the pump and re-assembled the pump. I ordered a fuel filter which should have been here by now and I also want to clean out the tank. I dumped all the fuel, any good ideas for cleaning a tank out?

So I got a bit busy. But the fuel tank and pump was installed and the car started right up! Bad news, for some reason I lost the engine oil dip stick and the car is making a strange noise and I don't know if the oil is too low or what. But I only let it idle for a couple of seconds then I shut her down. Anyone know of a good place to buy one? Here's a video of the sound:
