Smile New to me 1986 9L SVO

Here is some information for the site. This car is new to me as of July 13/13. Very original with 150K KM.

See my other post for more pics and some other info:
    http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...-did-1986-SVO!

Any extra info you can offer would be great!

I can't wait to really get it out to drive it!

With a little searching, I hope I'll get lucky and find the build sheet. Where are the best places to start looking?

    Thanks, Darran in Calgary,AB

My build sheet was behind the driver's seat (in front of the rear seat) under the carpet (of course).

    Default SVO build sheet

Looks like you found a VERY NICE keeper! I've got a close twin 9L '86 to yours (tho a bit younger VIN-wise and w/68k miles.) Haven't torn into mine as of yet because it's far from needing any restoring but, you might look under the floor carpets for the build sheet. Have you got any rust problems being from far north and lots of winter snow? I'm originally from Mn so I'm well familiar about how that one problem can make or break a restoring process when it comes to money outlay for body work.

Got an '82 GT T-Top myself and it's my favorite Fox with the SVO a VERY CLOSE 2nd. Good luck on the SVO, hope you enjoy it as MUCH as I enjoy mine!

While I was composing, someone else beats me to the "check under the carpet" suggestion. Well, that makes the hiding place that much more
    believable!

I wonder if one of the codes (DF, ST) are to signify KM/hr on the speedo instead of MPH? How else does the line know to build a "Canadian" version?

I have close to one thousand 1979-1986 Dearborn-built Capri and Mustang buck tags in the database and codes DF and ST are on almost every tag, including those US and Canada sales, and also "export" (AU, EU, JP, PR, etc.) models. The buck tag is used mostly for stamping the body (aka the "buck"), i.e. which holes need to be punched when the body panels are formed and assembled as a bare unitized chassis.

Which cluster needed to be installed would have been on the build sheet.

    Congratulations

    That's a Super looking SVO !

I found my Build sheet on my 1986 SVO Under the Drivers side carpet about 6 inches in front of the drivers seat.

I came across it as I was installing my Anti-Submarine part of my Competition Harness the week after I bought my SVO.

What is intriguing about the FoMoCo of Canada Price sheet is just that -

    The Sticker Price

It would appear that the Canadian Dollar was valued at about .70 the US Dollar at the time.

Still no matter what the Sticker Price in my view a heck of a value for what the owner received for his hard earned money.

    Enjoy every minute of Ownership
