    Cracking is eleviated by light weight Hyper cast pistons with long rods. The development Ford Australia did was only to tie the base of the 2002 Explorer block, and then reduce recipricating mass of the engine, even with a 3.4" stroke, 6000 rpm and 335 hp is well within nice limits for a 342 or 347.


    TheTickford engineers from Prodrive designed a simple Tickford main bearing girdle.

    From plstktnkr2's posts, the common heavy duty crank girdle for the factory 5.6 liter is the same as the 4.2 Essx 90 degree v6 item.
