Default It's a sad, sad day......

I'll just let the pictures do the talking...

Luckily both myself and my girlfriend walked away with only minor cuts.

Drag radials + Downpour = BAD!!!

Also lucky that the cop was SUPER cool about it and only wrote me a fix-it ticket for the tires.

good to hear your both okay.

are you gonna fix it, or get rid of it? it does look repairable.

clean it up, and see what your heart says.

Dang that really sucks. After all the hard work you had put into it. The car that all of us just loved so much. Hope you can manage to save it or save somethings off it. I'm just glad you and your girlfriend got out safe and sound.

now that i look at it, the shell isn't bad. 1/4's are good. a new roof, windshield, fender, and im sure some work on the structure inside the fender and the ds of the firewall. but thats defanitely fixable

Thanks everyone It was the rollbar that saved us. The drivetrain, and turbo kit are all fine.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do next. I did consider putting the drivetrain in the wagon I just got, but I really intended that car to stay a practical driver for my girlfriend. It's her car anyway, she paid for it. I'm going to look into fixing it, but I have to think that what that would cost would be more than the price of another car. And this car is not exactly pristine. It had some decent size rot in the floor. Whatever I end up doing you can be sure that 1) it will be another boxtop and 2) I'll be posting it up on here.

That car isn't safe to be on the road, let alone have a 10 sec combination in it...LOL. I break out in hives every time I have to look for parts off that thing.

Sorry to see that, but glad you both walked away. I hope you can fix it, or use it to spawn another.

Glad everyone was allright, and no other cars involved.

So what exactly happened? Hydroplaned? Just the tail come out on you?

I had the Nitto D/R on my Saleen and they were OK when new in the rain. What tires are on there?

WOW, Im incredibly glad to hear of no major injuries.

I am also part of a offroad club and the main thing I harp on everyone is to get a cage. If your going to street drive a car cage and proper tires are a must. Im not scolding anyone at all, just the opposite. I just hope others will see your car and realize this is serious, this could have gone bad in a big way. We all build our cars and modify them to be fast or corner better or beable to do wheelies or whatever we want, we need to keep in mind panic situations and unexpected problems when driving these cars on the road.

Again, Im incredibly glad to hear everyone walked away, I have seen similar situations where people lost thier lives for something that didnt seem like a big deal, we all take for granted we will be ok and it will work just fine.

So with that said Im off to start planning my new cage!

That's exactly what happened. We got caught in a sudden downpour. I tried like crazy to keep it straight but there was just too much water. I have BFG drag radials on there. They had only slightly less than new tread when we left. By the time this happened there were cords showing. Not sure what happened, but I have never had a set of tires wear out that fast. I didn't do a single burnout with them EVER.

I had 3 of my friends send me a link to that car..... LOL. I'm gonna get and estimate of what it's going to cost to fix my car. I have a feeling that buying a replacement is going to be the cheaper route. There are certain things I wish I would have done differently with my car. As bad as the situation is this is the perfect opportunity to do them.
