    Default Project 85 T-top

I thought that I would post my build that I have been working on as my new DD to get a little better mpg then my 331 stroker 88 Mustang GT. Below are a few pictures of my new project car when I bought it. My plans are to put in a 2.3 Turbo engine out of a 88 Thunderbird that was wrecked and I bought for a parts car. I have everything that I need engine and driveline from the car. The best part was it was a 5 speed too, so no crappy AOD for me. I will also post pictures as I do more work on the car. Guys let me know what you think of this build.

Here are some more pictures of the progress that I have done on the car so far. I have shaved and painted the engine bay, trashed the old and crappy interior and painted it with undercoating to sound deaden and waterproof the car because of the T-Top's. I was also painting the engine and driveline parts too to get ready for reassembley.

Got to do some work on the T-top

There is a lot more pics to come as the project moves forward. One of the members from another forum told me about this forum and thought you guys would be interested in seeing my project that Im working. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks guys for all your comments. I will make sure to update the progress that I have on the car. i just got in my Hydraulic Clutch pedals that i will be installing soon. I looking to finish painting the interior pieces and installing the rest of the interior.

Then I have to finish the body work on the car and the engine last. I always save the best for last.

Looks like its coming along nice and it looks like your doing good work. It also looks like you started with a nice rust free original paint 85 GT. There are not many of them around anymore. Im not a fan of the 2.3 turbo but by the looks of your work so far I'm sure it will be nice.

A lot of people arent a fan of the 2.3 Turbo but I wanted a DD and my weekend/show car because after the T-top is done then the 88 Mustang GT goes under the knife. I see a 331 stroker with a single turbo pushing 800+ to the wheels. that should be fun to drive around.

It seems more people are willing to work with the 2.3T now........it is not a bad engine and can make great power. Look over at turboford.net to see the potential of these engines and what is available for them.

They are the ones that got me hooked on doing a 2.3T because you can make great power and still get 25 mpg

I see this build thread over there too; I think I even replied to it. Looking good and if you keep this up, you will have a running car before you know it!

Was able to get some more work done on the car. I got the Hydraulic clutch pedals in the car. Also attached the Brake booster, master cylinder and the hydraulic clutch master cylinder.

I also painted the front sway bar but dont have any pictures of that yet
