Default new used notch

Ok I just bought my first notch. woo hoo
it is a 1985 roller black paint I was told it was a original T5 V8 car and would like to find out if that is correct.I also want to know if it was a squad only because it came with a few black rims and there are a few misc wires under hood and some taped onto rear lighting and there is no hitch on the car?
Any help is appreciated
thanks Don

Um....this message forum is here so questions and and answers and information can be posted in public. Doesn't do anybody else any good if questions and answers are done in private messages. Please try to use the forums for this stuff. Thanks.

The VIN will tell you the original engine.

The Body/Buck Tag (metal plate attached to radiator core support, behind driver-side headlamps) will tell you the engine and transmission. There should be an additional tag if the car is an SSP.

The Vehicle Certification Label ("door sticker/tag") will tell you the engine, transmission, and possibly if the car is an SSP.

What info do you hve besides the VIN? The VIN does not indicate transmission type.

The DSO looks like 41 but the EXTERIOR COLORS code is too hard too read from that pic.

The AC code also look like one letter(Q?), not two like you posted (GQ).

saleenjunky has a spectacular aura aboutsaleenjunky has a spectacular aura about
Default 85 Notch

I would recomend leaving the exterior as is and concentrate on getting it running.Once you get it running then save up and do the exterior. That way if for some reason you have to sell or if life gets in the way you didn't make a piece of crap or project out of the car like alot of people do.In my opinion the car is too nice to butcher up but its your car and my opinion means nothing.

I was planing on put all that I can from my 85 t top motor trans dash seats I have new carpet in my basment. The coupe/notch has a 8.8 with lower control arms and some new springs and shocks. The only reason Ihave to do this IS because I spun the car on the way home from work one day and ate the dividing wall with the pass side Quarter I have the complete rear half of a 1992 gt for that fix but that project might be to hard to tackle for me?The car has kenny brown T subframe connectors it apears the pass side hatch aera is pushed in 1/4 inch so im not sure? I love the t-top I have had it for atleast 10 years but I dont think the wife would like me to have two stangs a 2006 250 4door a focus and a buddies stang hanging around the house?
Now today a guy who is a big time ford man and big horsepower guy had his son who needs a chassy said he heard it was for sale and I almost puked.I am ganna try to figure out the best route to take?

thank you I had hoped it was a old squad or cruiser of some sort.
mainly because of the trunk wires and the hack aftermarket lights mounted to the front bumper. I will try to get a picture of those two points of the car. Thanks again for your research.

You mentioned it had a 140 speedo? Look for the word 'certified' on the face of the speedo
I take it there was no second buck tag-SSP cars had another one.

You likely will not find a second bug tag, as the DSO is 41, not 41-xxxx. SSP's will have more than 2 digits in the DSO.

I only saw one buck tag that was fastened weth a self drilling minni screw
I havent looked at the speedo that close when I got it everything is gutted out.
It only had the dash and door panels and front seat belts and the car has been repainted with paint on the crome trim from being poorly masked. I was thinking about carfax to see who the original owner was ect there is a sticker on the windshield that says department of defence? But it looks to be replaced ill get a picture of that also

thanks for all the responses and info guys..
