Talking My New 86 7B (Dark Shadow Blue) SVO

Hey Guys just thought I would throw up a few pics of my new Dark Shadow Blue SVO (1 of 71) I got last weekend. I purchased it from the original owner who picked it up off the lot new at Lief Johnson Ford here in Austin Texas when he graduated from the University of Texas in 86. It has 64,000 miles on it, no accidents, original paint and pretty much original everything else.

The most amazing thing about it is the documentation I have on the car. I have everything and I mean EVERYTHING from Window sticker until the Day I purchased it. Sales invoice, Oil Changes, College Graduate $400 Incentive Information, Dealer Maintenance, everything Ford or Lief Johnson sent him in the years after purchase, ect.

This SVO was the previous owner's baby and I am excited to have the chance to own it and enjoy it.

That is a good purchase! I wish I could come across the stories of my cars prior lives, and you have intense documentation... and a beautiful car to boot.

I have never seen a 7B in a state of being any near as nice as that! I really didn't even care for the color until now because of it. Now I can add that to list of cars I want to find. In fact that is the exact combo I would want to!

Hey skye how about one just like that, but with T-tops.

I have seen one other Dark Shadow Blue car in person in nice shape but it was a coupe and I instantly fell in love with the color after that. Seeing how good the blue looks on this SVO I cant understand why more 7B SVO's weren't ordered... my only guess is that if you look at an original brochure for 86 the 7B color swatch looks kinda funky so maybe dealers and prospective buyers didn't want to take the chance of getting a weird color that they wouldn't like. Once again just a guess.

I would like that car... didn't care for the wheels or spoiler on the trunk but that could be changed.

I didn't either...the guy who bought it from him is still in Austin and the first thing he did was take the spoiler off and have the car repainted in Dark Shadow Blue to freshen it up.

Great find I always wanted a 7B one, but with only about 70 built they are few and far between.

I was just over at BevoBo50's on sunday and checked the car out (and drove it ) and the car is everything you'd expect from a 60k original mile car. It's a stunning color in person on the SVO and just a really really nice car.

As far as the Coupe I sold, it went to a fellow local four-eye collector here and he had the wing taken off and the whole car repainted the factory color, it looks great. He's doing a few touchups to it (wheels, putting stainless pipes back on) and it's really coming along. So it landed in good hands. 7B is one of my favorite fox colors without a doubt.
