That is awesome! You got your car on the same day I got my 84 GT(19th?).
You car become a lot nicer in a year (or a week lol) than my car.

Default Six Months Old Pt. II

These are the parts we put into the engine
BBK X-pipe for a 94-95 mustang, $100 on CL, required modification to double-hump transmission support we put in that also had to be modified (the 79-81 mounts for that support are a lot narrower than 82-93, so we cut the tubes on the mount.)

Spare Black magic electric fan, Hedmann Headers for $25 on CL

Serpentine belt conversion parts, alternator, pulleys, belt, etc.

Fel-Pro top-end gasket set, Edelbrock Performer timing chain set, radiator brackets.

Edelbrock Performer cam and lifter set, holley electric choke (to match CL Holley carb we got)

Also added but not pictured: Cobra valve covers, ford air cleaner, ford motorsport plug wires, and car came with an Edelbrock performer intake.

    Finished Engine

Nice engine bay. Are you going to paint it back the original color? Sorry if you already said.

no, we are painting the engine bay satin black because it is easier to keep looking good, and it looks nicer.

The 1980 ford paint code is 8W, Chamois Glow. It is a pretty rare color for cobras, not sure about other models, have seen a few cobras this color in Europe, seemed to be a big color there. I think its so 80's its cool. we are thinking of other color options though, (don't tell dburdyshaw), like Mclaren orange or white, but still not sure until we see the color chip book.

Good job. You're further in the first year than I was with mine. I had mine almost 5 years before I legally owned it (tranferred the title) and put tabs on and drove it the first time.

Oh yeah.......I'll need my air cleaner back soon

I would repaint it same color. IMHO very unusual color.

At one time I owned a 79 Mustang hatch with 2.3L carb turbo in orange and its one of only two orange Fox Mustangs I have ever seen.

I can also understand desire to repaint it. I have always liked Jalapeno red and finally got a 85 Coupe in Jalapeno red.

But I have also very much wanted a medium to dark blue metallic mustang and am fighting urge to paint car a bright blue metallic rather than Jalapeno red.
