I always liked the M81's. Pretty much the only Mustang I would own these days.

I remember seeing posters of them at tire stores in the eeeeeeeeearly 80s as a kid. I was in LOVE. I remember them and the 79 Pace Cars from when I was a small child and I suppose those cars planted the seed for me. Dunno.

Thanks for sharing pics, guys. Hope to see more of them!

I know where there is an orange one available.

It has 400 miles on it. The guy took it for a spin without knowing the tranny had leaked out all of its fluid after all these years. The trans is all mess up at the moment.

He wants 20k for the car. The whole car is sweet but the paint looks like crap.
1983 GT - Basically original except for the 3 R's. (rims, radio, and rear).
    1984 SVO - a few add-ons, nothing fancy.

Could this be the car that you are talking about. I took a picture of one in Indy in 1995. It had been trucked in from somewhere for the SAAC show at Indy Race way Park. It was for sale then, pant looked pretty bad (like it had been stored in the sunlight) but the rest of the car looked pretty nice. I didnt look at the mileage.

It could be the same car. The one I am referring to was for sale in a dealership showroom in a pontiac dealership in CT before the person that has it now got it. This car originally came from a contest. You would buy a plastic kit car and send in the coupon. This car was given away free to some lucky contest winner.

KCoker , I have a McLaren Mustang race car post card from Ford Motorsport. Its car number 02 and orange and black lower bottom. Just like the pics in the photo album you had a link to. The back has this information:
The McLaren Mustang race car was built to demonstrate the performance qualities of Firestone's new HPR high performance radial tires. Powered by a 2.0 litre BDG Cosworth engine, the car is capable of a top speed of 150 mph. At the Daytona 24 hour race and this car finished 1st in the GTP class.
I also have a couple of AC Cobra post cards from Ford Motorsport

The 02 Car would have been the Morton/Klausler race car. It was parked out front of Summit Ford in Lees Summit back in 1982. That was the day Jackie Stewart signed autographs at the Dealership.
