Default Hello, new user. 78 Baby Blue Fairmont.

Hello, figured I should say hi eventually, as I've had a Fairmont for about 8 years now, and have browsed occasionally but never became a member. So here I am! I'll start by posting a few pics of the Montstr from the last few years, and then I'll head to the Non Mustang section and put the rest of the pics there....if you want to see what I've done, you'll just have to go look! Justin

Shortly after I got the car. It was a 2.3 3 speed floor shift car, factory buckets and no options at all...I immediately set upon sticking a 351w in it.

    351w with 5.8 4V HO air cleaner.

SNUG! less than 3/16" clearance, but never touched!

    Picking wheels

And after I decided on 1999 Crown Victoria handling package wheels, and decided to put some stripes on it. I basically wanted to make this car appear as a "what if SVO did a Fairmont?". People LOVED it!

    A nice Sunday afternoon.

    And a nice Sunday evening!

And one of my favorite shots of the car

And here it is playing with my 70 Chevelle Malibu 400 (big block 400) and my 7th Honda CRX, (sold, and haven't had a Honda since)

Well, there's my hello! haha a very brief history of my Fairmont. I'll be putting a write up and pics of what I've done with the car over the last couple years, I'm pretty sure you'll be interested. Thanks for looking! Justin

Welcome to FEP, Justin!! I'm certain you'll find many enthusiasts who will just fall in love with your car (me included, I love the early 'Monts).

Welcome to FEP. Love the chain being used for a torque strap on the engine, so old school. Nice ride by the way.

Thanks a bunch everyone! I really appreciate it!

Haha yeah, the chain was mostly just to test an old theory I have...if it LOOKS fast enough, people won't mess with you! You would NOT believe people's reaction to that! "Holy crap is needs a chain to hold the engine down!" "Man I bet that thing's fast!" haha it was classic, especially the people that would check the bottom of the hood for dents after I put the chain on!
Anyways, thanks again guys! I look forward to hanging out here! Justin

Welcome Justin! I like your power choice, mine too. The stripe with fairmont on back looks great. What kind of grille?

Thanks a bunch for the warm welcome everyone, and the great compliments! It's nice to hear. I live in a smaller town, and it's not really a Ford town, so I don't have any worries about people copying me! I basically had to figure out all this stuff on my own, did some online research but a lot of it was trial and error. More fun in hindsight this way, instead of just saying "What's the easiest way to swap a 98 DOHC Cobra engine in my car?" I just kinda went ahead and did it

I'll take some prettier shots after this weekend, my shoulder is kinda torn up so it will be a while before I can get it waxed and buffed now. Shoulda made hay while the sun was shining, instead of watching people fall off their skateboards on youtube.
