I had the 79-82 front air dam of theirs for many years before selling it to another member here. Was a pretty cool kit back in the day. One of the early ABS plastic kits that held up long term. Very light and fit pretty well overall.

Man that TC was in nice shape. I bought an 86.5 TC 20 years ago from my friends brother for $200. It was rough, turbo was burning oil and it had a blown head gasket between 2-3 so there was hardly any compression in those holes. I drove it home though. It still had tons of power which was surprising. I originally bought it for the 5 speed for my Pinto wagon but my friend from work convinced me to keep the whole drivetrain. I kept that and the marchalls. I gave the power buckets to my neighbor that did upholstery I sold the shell to some guy for $350 that needed the front clip. I finally sold the marchalls a few years back but I still have the drivetrain. I think those TC's would be a fun DD.

This LTD was in a pick-n-pull near me for almost 2 years before they finally crushed it. I got a lot of parts off this car.

$200 was a heck of a deal. And yeah those 2.3T are fun, I kind of wanna go back and get the engine

In 1999 it was only ~13 years old. Nobody wanted it and Brian needed to get rid of it as it was sitting at his work in the parking lot. They wanted it gone. I think he paid $1200 for it and drove it for about a year before it started having issues. He is not very mechanically inclined and he admits it LOL. I still go help him from time to time with his stuff.

I spent a week or so tinkering / figuring out what was wrong with it before I yanked the drivetrain. I would go take it out at night and rail on it. It was surprisingly fast with a hurt turbo and motor. Now I kinda wish I would have kept it and fixed it. Most of the TC's I see now are in worse condition than mine was. Unfortunately I didn't have the time or the space to deal with it back then. I had just bought my Tigger car and could not have both.

I have an early small bumper Pinto hatchback that I am going to use the fuel injection setup from the TC on. It already has a rebuilt 2.3L turbo with a 5 speed in it but it is carbureted and does not run right. Someone made a home draw through intake on it. It is pig rich at an idle and super lean in boost. It is not a good setup. I bought this car from my friend that convinced me to keep the drivetrain from the TC. I just need the time to finish it but there are always projects that get put in front of this one. For now the Pinto sits quietly

It should be a crime that Turbo Coupe was in a junkyard. I think I've seen one fox bodied Mustang in the local yards in the last 3-4 years and the scavengers hit that one particularly hard. Forget about an LTD/Marquis or fox T-Bird/Cougar. It is rare nowadays to see MN12 T-Birds and Cougars by me.

Hey I get it. Cars get old, things happen. The body on that thing just looks so clean though. I'm sure there isn't any rust underneath either.
