Fox, does the body number correlate to option package (GS, L, RS etc) or something else?

Body 67 (used '81-'82) includes all except GS.
Body 68 (used '81-'82) is GS.
Body 79 (used '83-'86) includes all.

    Those "body" codes are what's in the VIN, i.e. 1MEBP67..., 1MEBP68..., 1MEBP79...

Hang on to it, might be worth more than usual someday..
Kind of upsetting to know that so many were made, yet are hard to find. It really does make you wonder.

so i have 2 81 ghia coupes. 2nd least rarest, yuk. well their getting parted out now. not rare at all.
anyhow these cars must have really been hated to have so few pop up compared to the high numbers available? most were crushed i bet. how sad.
so now what? traggic. oh well at least i have a plan and i am sticking to it. the 4.2 car will be sold to someone who wants to restore it. that should be impossible to find ? i would bet it turns out to be a fairly rare car? appears to have original drivetrain intact. there is only one way i would be happy with the 255 car and that is turboed 255 just to be strange. and the 6 cyl car is going to be, well lets just say custom.

one of 1,843 isn't too bad. I bet in white tri-color RS with t-tops, a 5 speed and V8 would make mine somewhere in the low hundreds.

I wonder if it is possible to ask Kevin to break down "All Black '83 GTs with Sports Interior and T-Tops". he did that for both my '68 390GT fastback, and '69 ragtop.

Marti Auto Works has a "Research Stats" page but only 1967 through 1973 model years are selectable on that online form. I image they can do it for anything they have data for, which would include all of our cars, but it would probably be best to contact them directly via email or telephone as to the availability and the cost.

If I recall correctly, it is an additional $5-$10 per question. I don't necessarily want to hear that my car was a 1 of 1, since everybodys car seems to be 'a 1 of 1' if you break it down enough. Its like, "you are the ONLY ONE to have a Triple Green Avocado car with the Cigarette Lighter Delete!" I like narrowing it down to important items like; engine/trans, body, color and interior. Interestingly, Kevin Marti said my '69 ragtop was 1 of only 10! that came thru Blue/White Interior, 302 with a 4speed.

Fox. Stupid question er thinking out loud. Say 1984 mustang is there a wayyou can figure out roughly how many lx verses gts? Just wondering?

Nope. We didn't pay for that kind of breakdown. That would have cost a lot more money. We decided to do it by year and body only.

Based upon the above stated yearly T-Top Coupe production totals for each model year the 1984 model T-Top Coupe at a total of 624 cars has the lowest production.

Wow! Does that make me the owner of a "rare" car???

On the Marti Deluxe Report Just Subtract the number of GT's from the number of Engine/Transmission Numbers, This will give you a estimate of how many LX's are built for those with the Engine/Transmission Codes! I did it for the 85 GT CVTs. Guess you could do the same for other years but there are some variables... 5 Speed vs Auto etc...
