you can thank the Turks and Kurds for this. Oil is driven by the conditions on the ground. any iffy situation, no matter how slight will send the oil markets into chaos. just wait till the terrorists attack an oil-producing plant in saudi arabia. then oil will top at least $150 a barrel. thats why i am an advocate for drilling in the states and being self-sufficient in terms of energy

It's the oil futures and market greed in this country that drive up prices.

greed has been a driving force in many things, from politics to business. And ironically they are all intertwined.

If that's the case why not new cars for every member? I'd like that more than a dash pad, not saying the dash pad isn't generous.

It costs more to drill here because of all the damn money they pay welders and oilfield workers, yes its dangerous, but oilfield companies throw there money around like mad, if they trimmed it up a little bit they could save billions, just by not paying workers when they are actually not working, i've been in the oilfield and my friends are welders, i know how that stuff works

That is the stuff that makes the grass grow green...........I build hot oil trucks, kill trucks, and vac trucks ...........the average wage for a welder is $12/hr.........a hot oil truck goes for 275K.........who's making the money?
The owner of my company owns 6 different oil field companies........he just took delivery of another new pulling unit at a cost of One Million Dollars; it will pay for itself in six months.......as with other sectors of the economy, trickle down economy is not at work here.

Levelland Texas is an oilpatch town of 7000 people, we're averaging two oilfield deaths a month.............oilfield workers earn every penny they they bust their a$$es for.....and on top of this, most are illegal aliens....also I was around for the eighties bust when everyone was thrown out of work for two decades.

The break even point for drilling and production in the United States is $40/barrel.......between my house in Whiteface, Tx and my work in Levelland (12 miles) you can see at least 1000 pump jacks pumping like crazy.

The rich get richer and the poor struggle along

BTW....that little town of Levelland, Tx has a population of 7000.......every week, those illegal alien oilfield workers send $12,000 back to Mexico in moneygrams from the local supermarket......that's 12 grand a week that leaves the local economy, does not get circulated around.............and that's just from one source in town.

Also those illegal aliens keep the wages down.........employers will tell you: If you don't like what I pay; there's 10 illegals waiting in line who'll work for less.

There is a lot of money floating around the oilpatch........a lot gets wasted.........but it is the greedy company owners who are reaping the major benifits from it........it does not trickle down to the grunt.

Why not use up the rest of the world's oil first? Then we're sitting on the last of the supply in the future.
