    Default Door panel weather strip

Hello everyone, I had originally posted about my drivers window problem in the interior section.
Thanks for your insight, but I asked another question that I figured I would ask here.
After I removed my drivers door panel, the weather strip that attaches to it and helps seal the window and help with rattling basically fell apart.
    Well, it’s 40 years old this month…
    Question:
Has anybody replaced it with the one from LMR?
Their’s attaches with 6 screws instead of staples.
If anyone has, I would love to know how it worked out.
    Thanks again,
    Scott

I have done it in the past. The weatherstrip is fine, but getting the staples out is a bit of a PITA. I found that a cut off wheel to cut the face of the staple on the side of the weatherstrip that touches the glass is the easiest way to remove them. That allows you to get the weatherstripping off and then you just have to pull out all the remaining legs of the staples. Pre-drilling for the screws is recommended. I have done both screws and some really short tiny rivets. Personally prefer the rivets and I always worry about the screw coming loose. Hope that helps! Good Luck!

Same as on the 60s mustangs. Early ones can with staples but they are a pain to manually install. Regardless of what you use, Please paint the hardware black!

Putting a drop of threadlocker on the screw at final assembly might provide some added insurance.

    Thanks guys.
I would rather rebuild my engine than tackle the dam door again…
Trey, did you or anyone else use LMR’s kit ?
I like the company, but their install videos are a “bit lacking “.
