Well she is all back together after I found another shield. Took it for a rip and everything is golden. Need to find some ttop trim and caps. Need to save some cash for reproduction TRX wheels next. For now I gotta be gentle on the TRX tires from 1989.

Hope to see the car someday.
Well after its last car show trip she started running rich and surging. Tried to start it yesterday and surges then dies. Rock auto order and now wait. Found a cool marking under the carb spacer stamped OK and a number below. Lots of fine sediment in the bottom of carb that I wiped out. Here are some pics. Time to rebuild and hope no other issues arrise.

Well as I removed the power valve cover, fuel poured out. Well that explained the surging and dying. Makes me happy I wont have to adjust screws or settings from the factory set ones as the base screws are still capped off. I also found a secondar

All done! Now to wait for my new phenolic base gasket. I couldn't believe that the kit had Ford part numbered gaskets. I did not use the new seat as I did not like the way it was made. You can tighten the original one with a small socket. The new one had a slot on the top for a flat screw driver that was cut too narrow. I used the new needle.

Haven’t touched one of those in years! Good luck!
I must have rebuilt a thousand of those carbs back in my mechanic days. Super easy to work on, not much to mess up. Looks good.
Very cool thread! beautiful car! Thanks for all the info and great pic's

Hard to find these days.
Great upgrade with those new rims and tires....

If anyone missed my Facebook post, I decided to sell the car. A fox mustang enthusiast bought it and I hope I made the right choice. He already wants to change the period correct stereo system out of it. Even though I like the stereo the original owner saved for and put in, it's not my car anymore.
