I have been putting in so much work that I will be getting a lot out of this deal. As soon as we are done with the Miatas we are building we will get the Mustang in and freshin it up and put it all together. So Pumped!
Miata progress,
Here is an older vid of the car racing. Pretty cool to see an older car keep up with new stuff.

Went there for a ASA race in 93 right after the floods. Got Mark Martins autograph. Started disliking him after that but Roush was always my hero.
1984 Mustang GT owned since 1991 (first car). Mercury Mountaineer GT-40P engine, some suspension mods, currently undergoing a five lug SN95 brake upgrade and more suspension mods. Some minor body and interior mods have been done as well.
2004 GT convertible, 2001 Taurus LX, 1994 F150, 1950 F-1 Ford Pickup
Mark seemed pissed I asked but I can understand that. He just made some stupid remarks over the years. I always liked Roush cause he bleeds blue. I followed his drag racing while growing up. And love all the other racing he has been in. Like the Trans am Capri in the 80's.
Nice score! Are you gonna get this out at hi plains this summer? Would love to see it in action.
Those pics of second creek bring back memories. Didn't get much better than second creek and Rocky Mountain side by side.
Not sure about this year... maybe the last race in October. April 19 is the first high plains race, for sure I will be in my blue 86. Mid season is undecided.
We are going to fix a few cage to frame bars. Gonna need cleaned up. The best engine (out of 3) needs new retainers. He over reved it on a down shift.... almost hit 8000, then developed a missfire. About to drop a valve.
Soo much work still on the Spec Miatas we are building.... well get there.
Trying to finish the splitter on my blue one, curious to see if I can feel a difference

Mike!
After reviewing this thread again, I feel that I must exercise my Moderator powers and delete it in it's entirety. Unfortunately it has caused extreme jealousy and envious feelings that I am unable to deal with at this time!
Seriously looks like you have A Lot of fun ahead with your new race car!

I decided to remove all the decals, and see how good it would polish up.
It actually polished up REALLY well, single stage Urethae will do that!
Tearing most of the interior out at this time, 5 years in the weather took its toll.
Should I just start a build post at this time? Any way this whole link can be moved by an Admin?

Mike,
Congrats on getting your GT home. Although once again I do feel some envy and jealousy swelling up inside!
I don't see any need to start a new thread at this time. I would just continue on with the build up posting in this thread. It keeps everything in one place and helps everyone to know the back story too. I believe I can alter or add to the thread title if you want. Let me know via PM and I'll see what I can do if you like.
Good Luck!

Yes, live in Broomfield, used to work close to his shop. and have known about that car for some time...nice score! Stopped buy several years ago when SCCA As class was hot and doing a build of my own before starting a Family. Back then they has several "builders" around and just stopped by every so often and inquired about anything that may be for sale. Then the Miatas started popping up there, even "donated" extra body parts I saved off my wifes Miata for spares/etc...Last time I was over there inquiring and picking his brain on the CMC rules/etc...that has been several years ago as life got "in the way" again.
What are your plans for her...Vintage Racing, CMC, fun Track car or all the above?

Thanks Trey, We can just leave it here then. I gues if the title could be changed to "81 Race Car" that would be cool, if not, no big deal.
Im just excited to have another project. Im very curious about how it will handle vs my Blue car. My Blue car handles VERY well, I surprise many people every time Im at the track.

Way too modified to down grade it to CMC, even though many people want me too... It appears AI class is next best, but I dont really have the money to be competitive. Not that I care, Ill run in the back, fun either way for me.
Im finding that after sitting for 5 years it will need more attention than origionally though. Im ok with it, give me a chance to make it my own.

Thanks, excitd to get into this thing. I almost thought it would not happen. Summer got so busy it just sat there with no progress. I know he had a hard time letting it go, but he'll be glad to see it get put to use. I essentailly work for him for free, he just gives me racing stuff. I even found a trailer burried on his property, he gave it to me. I restored it over the summer. (smaller project but still fun)
I know it is a race car, but I still plan to keep the 4 eye look and OE style. That was what my other post was about in the Body section, Im missing the driver lower chrome window trim, just cant seem to find one. (even though the car has no windows...)
