    Been there, done that. Not fun. As I cut and fit the first side, I cut and ground the second side pieces at the same time. Not a guarantee, but it helps. What I am not looking forward to is getting all of these welds and edges straight, and keeping the body lines crisp on the new pieces. I then have to rip it all back off, coat the back, jamb the car, re install them with seam sealer, and hope it all still lines up.

    You could probably make some SVO style spats with less difficulty. I bet folks would buy them if they were available.

    Yes, those are easy. I wanted something that looked less "stuck on". However, if people were interested, I could whip those out pretty simply.

    That's a good way to do it to help things match. I know in my experience that getting both sides identical is always the most frustrating, so I feel your pain!

    Just keep in mind how awesome it will look when you get it all done and painted and that will keep you motivated to get it all done!

    Got a little more done, although not nearly what I wanted. I got called in to work to save the world from squirrels (long story) and my MIG crapped out. But at least it is better than nothing.

    A full 4x8 sheet of 22GA steel is around 30LB. 60' of 1/8×1/2 strip and 60' of 1"×1/8 was 42LB. Minus the scrap, plus the body filler, probably around 70LB. for the whole thing.

    Yep, or removing the jack and spare. I swore I had, and when I pulled out the interior, I had not. I wish I had gotten a couple of runs in without the jack, spare, and rear seat, with drag radials. Bet I would have hit twelves.

    Love it man. Wished I could do this kinda stuff. I think the front would look even more sweet if it had more of a splitter look kinda like the cobra splitter. I mean with just that little piece added to the very bottom to make it stick out.

    Been working a ton with the bad weather around here- It has been difficult to get anything done. I did get the last side skirt finished.




    I have the framework for the rear valance roughed in. Not sure I am in love with it, but I will have to see. It is hard to capture how it looks in a picture, since it is so two dimensional, but you get the idea. It follows the line of the bumper cover exactly.
