I want 10's aswell. But my 351w will need the spray to do it.

I just started reading this thread, and wanted to stress to you, that if you are still running "C" clips, and stock 8.8 axles, you are putting your self at risk. Congratulations on improving your combo into the 10s, but make sure that Pony is safe! Good racing to ya! Dale
Yes I agree about the c-clips. I think that is one of the safety upgrades that needs to be done when running faster than 11's. My setup really doesn't shock the tires very hard. I've heard stick car with a lot less power twisting those 28 spline axles.
Playing with fire.....

Better weather is on it's way. Looking for a new best. Carb testing in the future.

Have not been out to the track yet. But have been doing some testing on a issue that has plagued me forever. I'm having a uneven fuel delivery problem. I have confirmed that I do not have any vacum leaks. My afr at the end of the track is 12.5. I'm running a holley hp 750 and a Victor jr intake. I've heard that staggering the jets has helped with this issue. Anyone have any experience with staggering the jets?

Usually you stagger jets for street able driving with a power valve, when the car is only needed to race you block off the power valve supply and then you run the same jets, but it sounds like you are running it that way now, I would only try staggering the jets if you have a stumble off the line.

Went to the track couple weeks back. Nothing has changed on my combo.
Track was hot and slick so no change in et.
Did notice a kinda of thumping noise. Had a slight issue last track day which was last year.
While loading the car on the trailer I had to give it a little more throttle than I should have.
Knocked the ramps off the back of the trailer with the front wheels on the trailer and the back wheels on the ground.
Ouch. Yes I have pictures but you will never seem them. Anyways didn't think I did any damage.
Wrong. Put a nice size hole in my Mac pro chamber. Perhaps the exhaust leak is making this noise.
All fixed now going to put the car up on jack stands and run it up a bit going the the gears. Hope that fixed it.

Been to the track a couple of times since fixing the pro-chamber. No more thumping. But still have some strange sounds coming from the rear of the car. Almost sounds like I had rocks flinging off the tires. Nope that wasn't it. I took the rearend apart an it looks fine. I checked all the bearing as well as the rear brakes. Had it out to the track today and it seems to be getting worse. I'm thinking I may have a rear control arm bushing going. I suspect my Spherical Upper Control Arm Bushings. Going to check them next week and let you what I find.

All the suspension parts checked out ok. Did find 2 things that could be the source. The E-brake cable was very loose and the passenger muffler was a little to close to frame rail. Time will tell. Next track day Aug 23.

Keep us posted- the rain around here has kept me away from the track most of the year.
1983 Mustang G.T. No-option stripper- I like strippers.

Just got back from the track. No more rattle from the rear of the car. Now I hear the header rattling on the frame. This has always been a off and on issue. I still think I have a miss 1st and 2nd gear nothing at the top end in 3rd. I changed the plug wires, cap and rotor before the season started. I checked the plug and coil wire at the track and they appear ok. I suspect the new MSD cap and rotor now. I do know these can be a quality issue. That's all they had at the parts store. I'm going to put the old cap and rotor back in as I never had this issue last year with the other brand I used. Just thought I would change them as they had been on the car for awhile. I will also pick up a new cap and rotor non MSD.
Ran 3 11.30's did a jet change and ran a 11.17. Could have jetted down some more as the afr was still rich going thru the traps. All mph in the 120's.

Well it's been sometime since I've posted. I had been looking forward to improving on my personal best et.
Unfortunately for me and my fellow racers here in the Vancouver area our track had a new surface put in.
Things did not go as plan. After they laid the new concrete things went way wrong. They had to remove all
the new concrete and start over. The track should be ready this weekend. I won't be going out until the end
of August.

Well after the huge delay with the track opening this year I have sold my 79.
I will now have the time and the $$$ to finish my other 4 eye. 1965 Comet.
A 331 stroker and a built aod. Hope to get a mid 12's timeslip.

We're not fast racers, we're more what's known as half fast racers.
I sure hope it's got a mid 12 second et in it.

So I sold my 4 eye to Don a couple of years ago.
He was at the track the other day.
He is not in the 10's yet but has a new 150 shot of nitrous to try.
His best is 11.023. What do you think his et will be?
