Default Cowl hood for 1986 Capri????

Is there a manufacturer that makes a say 2" (or close to it) cowl hood for the 86 Merc Capri?

There was one that did it but the name of them escapes me at the moment.

I have no experience with any of them but there are these options:

    Champion makes a 3"

    H.O. Fibertrends has a 2.5"

There can't be but a couple of places actually making them, so this is probably one that Jeff has listed already, but Late Model Restoration lists one in the catalog too - http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...Induction-Hood

Maier Racing also has a 2.5" cowl hood for the Capri. P/N 7986CC $439.95.

http://www.maierracing.com/ Click on the "Catalog" button on the left side, then "79-04 Mustang", then "Fiberglass", then "Hoods".

    Hope that helps!

I'll check into the LMR one. I like the bolt on fact without the hood pins.

    Thx everyone!

I have the H.O Fibertrends for my 85 Capri, very well built bolt on hood! Requires very little prep work!

I wish they made more hoods for capris. I wouldn't mind a 4 inch. Any body know the fitment quality of the champion 3 inch hood.

I have the HO fibertrends one. Very happy with it, required very little prep work. My major disapointment was lack of the Capri hood vents in them here's a link to my write up on the solution:

Funny, with shipping straight from HO Fibertrends, the hood is $25 more than if I bought from 50Resto. Price is $100 more, but 'free' shipping. Shipping to me from HO is $125....

I have always thought about one of these, especially after seeing Mike Crokes...
