85 gt covertible trim color for (2R) jalapena red
i have an 85 convertible that is jalapena red. what i need to know is if the trim including door mouldings and cowl cover is supposed to be black or gray. this is a GT car and it has a black top. the only thing i have found on the net is that some have black and some have gray. i want to know if there is a code to tell which this car had. the paint code for the gray that i have found is sem#39153. is this the correct color gray for an 85 GT? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
The color is charcoal gray for the cowl and all side moldings, as well as the trim including the metal on the dew wipes and the trim around the convertible top area of the body. Also the a-pillars, windshield frame and headlight buckets should be gray. The Mustang GT decal on the trunk lid should also be gray (along with the hood decal). I believe the number you have is correct (my empty SEM can is at my cabin, so I cannot confirm at this time). All those area are still gray on my otherwise modified 86 GT.

yes, SEM #39153 is the best match for charcoal gray.
1985 Mustang GT Convertible
Stock and original @ 213k, except for dynomax ultraflos.
Door handles, Antenna, Antenna Base, Wipers and Locks should all be satin black (locks are annodized).
The rest is CHARCOAL GREY!
