Default SVO pass side corner light repops

I've have finally approved the mold for the new lens I am producing. I have 10 people already who are getting the first production pieces. I only make the main lens and amber lens and you guys will have to reuse your back plate. it keeps the cost down and many of you still have good backplates. I would post pics on the SVO board, but its not allowed for some reason. I know they would be pleased that somone finally took the initiative to make it happen. Anyway, you will soon be able to get them from a SVO vender.

I applaud your efforts, determination, and bringing something to the market. I have a couple questions though.

    1) Are you planning on re-popping the driver's side? I know finding driver's side lens are easy, but I'm looking at this from your lens matching up with the driver's side for a uniformed look. If you could mount the lens you have and take a pic of it next to a driver's side, that would let us know how well the two will blend together.

    2) What kind of material did you use? I like the look, I'm just curious how they'll hold up for cars that are driven and exposed to the elements.

    3) Talk to Bud and/or Eric on the SVOCA site. Approach them in a PM or E-mail about this before posting something on the board. They have strict rules and guidelines for folks wanting to offer something to the club members. Be open to suggestions from them about approaching club members. I would also consider offering a SVOCA member discount as this would show that you're not just out for a quick buck.

Again, congrats....I may consider a purchase.

Outstanding! I am sure that took considerable amount of effort on your part.

Even if it is not a "perfect" match to the OEM left hand side, for those out there needing one... it is long over due.

Neat. What type of glue will be required to fuse the pieces together? I had a repop inner marker lens come apart and there wasn't any type of glue that I tried that would work nice enough to both adhere and make a good looking seam(as its visible through the lens).

That didn't work. Too brittle. It lasted maybe two days before the heat of a New Mexico summer started weakening the bond and it came apart after a little twist check.

I also tried model cement, PCV type glues, Epoxies. It got to a point where I was tired of stripping off the old glue and it started making the lens look crappy. I just ended up buying a new one.

    Response....
1)I'm thinking about making the drivers, but they are still on the shleves, so there is no real demand yet. I wanted to do something that is needed NOW.

2)Go to this link and it will tell you all about the material I am using and how string and durable it is..
    http://www.turboford.net/ubb/ultimat...3;t=029181;p=1

    3) I am approaching a vender as we speak, because my plan was not to distribute myself. I'm just one of those eccentric guys who likes to be remembered, and I a busy with my current job.

As for the SVO board, I dont like to cause waves, so I am approaching SVO venders as Bud suggested I do. I am sure if he knew me and knew what my intentions are, he would have not deleted my post there.

I had the same issue and used clear RTV sealant, the kind you would use around the outside of windows. It stays somewhat flexible and waterproof. I've put about 2000 miles on the car since doing this and have had no issues.

Yes while I've never used it I've heard something similar about using the clear RTV for fish tanks / aquariums. Strong, flexible, and water tight.

Yeah, if super glue isn't working, get something like RTV or GOOP. A flexible bond will remain "sticky" for longer.

Because no company out there re-popped them like they did for the driver's side (until now that is.....)

And it's not that they're THAT hard to find, it's that when they come up for sale, they go for $250 plus....and I'm talking USED here, not NOS.
