Neil, saw that post some time ago, and completely spaced on it. I did talk to Nelson yesterday though, so sorry that took sooo long.
No new updates, although the tranny swap went pretty smooth and it shifts real nice.
Backed it into the garage under its own power for the first time
Have been meaning to fix my power steering "faucet" but ive had a lot of carb trouble with my floats sticking. Ive had the thing apart more times than i can count
Anyways hoping to get some work done this weekend. Next week is spring break as well so im hoping i will be busy on it
i have begun collecting parts for my 5 lug swap as well. Staying drum in the rear for now to keep it cheap and easy
thanks
Vance

Havent done a whole lot. fixed my power steering leak, bought a new rack and pinion and got that in saturday. With the maintenance stuff out of the way its time for better shtuff and i have a few questions
I have began my 5 lug swap.
for the rear is it better to get a foxbody 8.8 and convert it? or would i be better off getting an sn95 8.8 with 5 lug and disc already?

Vance,
the easiest would be to get a 5 lug disc from a 94 or 95. I have this rear end in my 84 SVO and the only thing we had to change was the hard brake line on the diff itself and the hand brake cables. Double check you track width though as the SVO's are a little wider.

84 1C SVO "Blackie the Wonderbeater" (DECEASED!!!!)
84 9L SVO T-TOP (under restoration)
84 1C SVO T-TOP (Deceased)
86 2R SVO (roller, future pro-tourer)
Wheel choice is the big factor on rear end difference. What wheel width and backspacing you want to run will determine the better choice for the rear axle. Sn-95 axles are 3/4" longer so most 8" wheels is what will fit this setup good. If you want 9'"-10" wheels than you should be looking at Fox length axles.
I always planned on running 8's up front, but was unsure about the rear. In this case ill probably run 8's all the way around.
Should be picking up a rear end i have lined up in about a week.
Maybe making a junkyard run next week as well to pick up control arms spindles and caliper brackets.
Thankyou both very much (:

GOSH I CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVENT POSTED IN HERE SINCE 2011!!!
graduated high school and life kinda hit and the capri has sat in the garage since, not started, nothing. :/ I'm now a union lineman and travel for work, but hoping to come home for good in a couple of years and than the capri will be finished, or basically re started and finished...
I was home last week and my pops said my car had to go, so i moved it to storage. the "good" thing was that i charged the battery, sprayed some ether in her and she fired right up, and drove her to her new home. Im a regular over on FSB and the powerstroke forums with the same username.
Ill never get rid of my capri, just wont be worked on for awhile. on a side note, heres my newest toy:
Thanks for always offering advice and sharing knowledge. you guys are awesome
