    Default Clutch Switch Wiring

I am converting to a 5 speed from factory auto trans. The car is a 1985 four cyl (non-turbo). My question is, is the clutch switch wiring there in the auto harness from the factory? If so then I should just need a clutch switch, mount it and plug it in. There is some info out there for later years, but I wanted to post and make sure the 85 is the same. If anyone has pics of the factory 5 speed wiring that would be helpful.

This is not a 4 cyl harness example but my experience on both '85 5.0 CFI/Auto and '86 5.0 auto harnesses (both original cars) is that the clutch switch pigtails are NOT in the automatic wiring harness. I removed these harnesses from the cars and replaced them with 5 speed car harnesses, sometimes called "headlight harnesses." On both the '85 5.0 CFI/Auto and the 86 5.0 Auto cars the an '86 5 speed headlight harness was completely "plug and play" with the existing dash harness on both cars.

Perhaps in '87 or so that standardardized the harnesses so the clutch switch pigtails were simply tied up in the harness on automatic cars or so I have read on this board.

Ok, that is what I was afraid of. There are two four eyes in the local pick-a-part. I'll have to go check them for the switch/wiring connectors(not sure if they are manual cars or not). Using the wiring diagrams I think I can splice it in properly.
