This just isn't going to work.
This is a photo of my 85 Mercury Capri RS as it has sat for 22 years. I'm going to push it out on the driveway tomorrow (weather permitting) and start the clean up process.

All of the original badges must be put back on and the ride height restored to get the plates. The regulator insists on 100% originality.

    More coming this weekend!

The forum rules as stated on page 7 section 6 d-5 requires any new forum poster to provide complete and immediate pics of car asap as the picture hungry followers must be satisfied.

Now you must post pics immediately, or else!

Just for fun (and to comply with forum rules) here is an old Polaroid of my 79 Mercury Capri RS before I wrapped it around a pole.

That's one SWEET RIDE !!!!!! Awesome looking car and it looks ot be in excellent shape. Like it more than that 1900+ mile red one that just sold on Ebay. Just something about the white and dark gray combination that catches my eyes. Of course I could be biased on my comments

So does it have the rear window spoiler on the back? Do your side moldings say RS or are they just plain? Looking forward to seeing the rest of the photos when you get them posted. Maybe some day we'll be able to park side by side at a show of some sort....

Great looking car. Sorry if I missed it earlier, but why are all the emblems off? Was it re-painted before you put it away?

I removed the badges but not for repainting.

They are all going back on today and the stock springs back in. The MV requires 8X10 color glossys taken from specific angles submitted along with the application in order to get the collector plates, the car must be 100% stock to qualify for collector status (I'll reverse it back once I get the plates).

Somewhere though I lost the "Mercury" badge for the grill, hope they don't notice.

Thanks for looking, that's what I have been doing with it for the last 25 years!

No rear spoiler, just slightly raised trim at the back of the window.

Side mouldings say "RS" (Canadian models all did).

I'll be posting full "restored to stock" photos tomorrow morning.

That would be cool to see this thing next to another one (like yours).
I just don't see any in any of our car shows.

Yup! Lots of pis are coming.

I spent half the day cleaning 22 years of dust and cobwebs off the thing, and then the other half restoring the stock ride height and re-installing the badges. I need to submit 10 pictures to the MV with the collector application, I just finished the pictures and will submit the application Monday.

You do realize the pictures should come to us before the MV, right?

What a gem of a car, a true time capsule. Congrats on 20+ years of "restraint" and dedication keeping it the way you have. Remarkable indeed. Best of luck with the application process, I am sure you will do fine.

Well, I spent the whole day cleaning off 22 years of dust and cobwebs.

My Black and Decker 12 amp Leaf Hog was great for blowing the cobwebs off the under body and drying the whole thing after washing. Tomorrow I plan to replace all the badges (Missing grille badge RATS! ) and put the stock springs back in. Gotta do that for the MV. I'll post photos of that later.

Bought a new Ford battery today so i might start it up Monday.

Wow they really give you a hard time about historical plates there. Here in Ohio once its 25 years old you can get them no restrictions on modifications the only thing is you have to have another no historical vehicle registed in your name. I work at a repair shop and we have an oil burning furnace to heat the shop in the winter so I'm sure you could syphon the gas out and ask some local repair shops if they would want it to burn if they have an oil burner
