Default pics of my carriage roof

Here's some pics of my 81 carriage roof ghia. I'm wondering what trim pieces I'll need to get when I remove this hideous roof. Any ideas?

I saw one of those in the junkyard, I thought that it was some lowrider type conversion, that was a real option?

I dig the Carriage, you should keep it! That's a relatively rare thing on a Stang.

Not me, I'd have it off the roof ASAP.

There's gonna be some holes to fill, and I'm pretty sure they didn't paint it underneath so you'll have to paint it.

That would be a sleeper if you put a nice 900 horse small block under the hood.

I really wanted a 4 eye notch, and it was $400 and pretty clean/rust free. It has some surface but no rot. Underside is rock solid. Interior is nice and not cut up. The headliner is gone and the usual dashpad cracks. Drivetrain is all good with 28k miles. Needed a gas tank, steering rack, radiator, and a few miscelaneous cheapo parts from sitting soo long. It seemed like a good start for a project V8 swap.

I'm going to weld the screw holes for the trim, the whole car is getting painted so I'm waiting until I can afford that to remove the roof. I know I need sail panels. The rear window trim is what scares me. The windshield too since it has the vert a-pillar covers on it.

Please keep the carriage roof. It's so hard to find a 79-81 mustang like a "matching numbers". Just think you're in 2020 or 2030 now ! Are you proud of it ?

    Default carriage roofers!

I have a Carriage roof as well, they totally make these cars something unique, to remove it if the roof is in good shape kills the value of the car!

Twins! Looks just like mine! My roof was trashed though so I had no choice in removing. Thats crazy they both are white, carriage roof, and almost the same amount of miles! Only difference is mine is a 1980.

U got a great deal on it, nice car. I'd jump on it too if I seen one around here like that. Myself, I'd remove it, save the trim and repaint the car. If you weren't going to repaint it right away, I'd leave it on....it may grow on you.

You could sell or trade it to one of these guys on here yelling they want it. Then get the car you want.

If it was in Canada, I would totally take that off your hands so I would have a brother to my carriage roof stang, mine always attracts attention at the Mustang shows, it would be even cooler if I had a second one. To bad its a 6, mind you mine has the 255 so the 6 probably isn't much less wimpy. My 255 makes all the noise and drinks all the fuel of a 302, without the power, lol
