Default Anyone heard of Ralph Thomas Ford in Scottsdale?

I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about that dealership. I got my Emminger invoice a while back and that was the dealer listed. I searched for it, but found nothing. I'm gonna search a little more but I thought I would see if any of you AZ folks know of it, if it closed etc. Also, does anyone there have any insight for me in regards to contacting the "MVD" (isn't that backwards ) and tracking down the original owner of my car.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Never heard of that dealer but then again dealers sell out and change names all the time. As for the DMV, good luck. It seems like they hate to do anything other then take your money. Had a heck of a time dealing with an abandoned truck once. Never again will I do that unless I really have a thing for the vehicle. Not sure if it's true or not but the lady I dealt with on the abandoned truck said she couldn't give me any info on the last registered owner. Maybe they can't or maybe she didn't want to. Then again I'm not much of a people person.

Not familiar with that dealership at all, Bell Ford is the only one that comes to mind in Scottsdale, or Jack Ross Lincoln/Mercury. As for AZ-DMV yeah what 4eyegt said. I don't believe you can get past owner information unless you go the main office in Phoenix and put in a title search, even that only gives you the last registered owner. I had to do that for a 69 Roadrunner I owned to get a bonded title.

I knew the dealership either sold or is out of business, just wondering if anybody knew what it is now or if it just went away. As to the DMV stuff. I'm not surprised to hear that. I was just hoping it might not be that way. Thanks y'all.

was there an address for the dealer? Trying to think that far back...is this for the '84? If it was 7100 E McDowell,it is now Five Star Ford.. The Power Ford of North Scottsdale used to be Lou Grubb Ford 8555 E Frank LLoyd Wright Blvd(Was E Bell Rd I think..)That was as far back as '94/'95 but I do not remember when it was originally built..maybe late 80's ...
These are the only two I can think of at the moment.

oh..as far as the MVD--Motor Vehicle Division. I guess they wanted to be 'unique'

If they really wanted to be unique they could always try being friendly and helpful. That's unique.

Jack, It seems they were originally known as "Good Thomas Ford" first and changed to Ralph Thomas Ford in 1982, and were dissolved in 1985.

See the below link for more info:

The General Manager's Name was: Pat Thomas.... Interesting promotional article here too:

It sounds like they are the Five Star Ford outfit now. The address on my invoice is 7100 E McDowell Road. That's good info to know, thanks.

I'm gonna guess they don't have any sea lions or dolphins there now though

Yeah. I go to third party DMV's in Phoenix. The local DMV in Yuma isn't as bad if you go early. By late afternoon everyone is in a bad mood.

Compared to the DMV in Illinois, MVD out here in Tucson is wonderful!

That makes another reason I won't go to Illinois.

The DMV on Sarnoff was okay but I hated going to the one off of Palo Verde! Then emissions... Don't even get me started!
