I just installed a 2 gauge pod on my 86 pillar, looks good, but then i saw the cowl grill with the pods and really like it.

What's the difference between the 87 up A pillar and the 79-86?
Thanks.
Howard
I know on my 86 i had to lift the dash pad to get the a -pillar off because theres a screw you cant get to,on my 90 i just popped it off to mount the pod, basically its different at the bottom of the pillar itself.

The full pillar Autometer makes will fit our cars but then you can't get the dash pad off w/o removing it! I had originally purchased one but realized this and had to get the add-on pillar instead. Too bad too cause it's slick.

But they'll physically fit and look correct? If I have to remove the dashpad, I'll just have to remove the 2 top, clip-in, trim pieces that cover the headliner then remove the A pillar?
Thanks,
Howard
No, they won't physically fit because they'd interfere with the dash, being a different shape at that end. If you cut off the bottom, the rest would fit, but then you'd be missing part of your A-pillar ...
