will the 86GT console match up to a 79 dash?

it doesnt actually meet up with the dash it should sit under just a hair

The consoles from 79 to 86 were the same, just different colors. The dashes were slightly different, but most can never tell the difference. They'll look fine together.
If they take my stapler, then I'll set the building on fire...

Yeah I remember that now but what about the diagram of the car that shows when lights are out and low fuel? wondering if there would be enough clearance. Guess I will just have to see if my console fits when the car gets here. Thanks

There were some slight differences in the graphic warning display, but only in the way the graphic appeared. There was no difference in the physical dimensions of the display.
If they take my stapler, then I'll set the building on fire...

The display/clock on the 79 is also a bit nicer looking than the 83+ ones.

I don't know if the display is in the car. I found a piece of the console with the ashtray in it but it was broken and the car is full of parts so not sure what all is in there. Thanks for the help
