Very nice Joe! I had my old Pinto Panel Wagon clone painted with that same paint. I also had to buy "hardener" for it, as the body guy that I hired to spray it, said that I would need it for extra shine. I'm not sure if that was true or not, but it looked good when I got it back.

Looking good! I haven't painted with Centari for about 10 years. I liked that better than the Napa stuff I have been using lately but my local dupont place only mixes the nason stuff now. I haven't had good luck with that. I want to try the paint summit sells myself. Probably won't use my 85 as the guinea pig for that though.

Thanks Pete, yes Centari uses reducer and hardener for best results. I figured this was the best for the jabs. the full paint job will be BC/CC Urethane (Dupont ChromaBase)

Thanks Mike. This one sort of fell into my hands. I actually like Canyon Red, LRB, and white in order of preference...

Well the good news is that the red dust (from sanding) is done. Between my HVLP gun and the huge exhaust fan, there isn't a lot of dust on the garage floor from the painting process....

Thank you. I like to "go with what I know".... So as long as I can still get Centari, I'm going to use it for projects like this.

You prep it, I'll spray it....

Keep in mind that I already have a backlog of cars. Once this one is finished, my friend's 84 GT Turbo Vert is coming in (same color as my 84 RST), then I have this one, affectionately known as the "rotter":

And, oh yeah - I want to spray the passenger side, roof, and rear hatch on the SVO

First up, base coat. This went on nice with on a few small issues....

    Then onwards to clear coat:

Unmasked and back down on all fours:

So it looks pretty good in pics, but it is going to need the full wet sanding and buff. I'm a bit disappointed with the clear coat. I can't seem to get the clear to lay on just right. When I painted the 84 RST, I had a lot of orange peel. This one I thinned the clear a bit (per the instructions) and I've got some runs. Then I guess I was going a little too "dry" in a few spots and ended up with more orange peel.

Anyway, it will buff out nicely and it's another step closer to getting back on the road. I'm going to wait until spring at this point, so I've got all fall/winter to finish up the details (trim, adjust windows, etc), re-install the interior and take care of some mechanical gremlins that have popped up since I bought the car.

I've got a bunch more photos and unfortunately it's raining here right now (and for the next day or so), so I won't be able to get any pics in the sun....

Beautiful as always..did you do any sanding to the color coat, or just spray and then clear?

That is the way I am doing it also to save on costs. I am shooting the cheaper PPG Omni MAE with hardner in the engine bay, interior, and jambs and base/clear on the exterior. A half gallon of the Omni is only $46 bucks. Nice work, I need one of those spray gun stands.
