1983 Dominator III w/Paxton Supercharger

This car is my latest quest! Have not found it yet. But I am on the trail.

Some background told to me recently by some former Summit Ford Employees.

A brand spanking new Black 1983 Mustang GT was ordered by Summit Ford and shipped directly to Santa Monica Ford. There it was picked up by none other than Joe Granatelli. Who installed the new paxton supercharger kit that they were selling. A Summit Ford employee flew out and drove the car back to Kansas City. Where it was used in promotions like the following:

I recently had conversation with JR Granatelli and he remembers his father putting the Paxton S/C on the 83 GT. This was one of the test cars when they started to offer the blow through kit for the Fox cars. He believes there should be pictures in some of the magazines and ads from 1983. It would not have had any Dominator stickers on it at that point according to the Summit Employee who picked the car up from California.

From what I have been able to dig up. Two cars were produced and it appears no engine modifications were done to the cars. Just a paint scheme and stickers. The two cars were given to Jim Crawford the race car driver and his crew chief Bob Fernley to drive around town and to do promotions with. Currently have no known locations for the cars. According to my source the base cars were Red in color. Three of them were purchased by Summit. Here is a picture of the third car. It never received any of the stickers that the other two did. It was purchased by one of the Summit Ford Employees.
