But I am on the hunt for another head that I can play around with, without having much downtime on the car or risk of debilitating injury to the car.
I'm still only a child at heart, so all I wanna do is play

Thanks for the compliments, but I would like to direct you to the hold harmless paragraph at the bottom of the registration form....I am fighting off the demons as we speak. Just putting your car in the field will be more than enough thanks.

-POUT- but I like beer...
oh well, I'll bring bacon, maple syrup, and my pet beaver then.
I really hope that I can make it this year, any excuse for a vacation is a good one in my books!
Soo today I got offered a capri, apparently it is really really really rare :P
AHEM 1983 Mercury Capri "GT"(rare car only 52 made according to him) bubble back, T-top, Five liter, Five speed, "Venom" engine package (dual alternators, roller rockers, I think he said it had a 20 liter oil pan, and a whole bunch of other stuff after that I just ignored) rubber floormats, leather interior, crazy stereo system etc... 2200 canadian
I have a hard time believing all of hat, if not for the whole description, the asking price. If it really was only one in a whole deck of cards, I have a hard time seeing it as the ace of spades he described

Well, I have been driving patches for a couple weeks now, and I must say, she needs a bit more power. I have to figure out how to lean up the A/F ratio, because economy has been horrendous as well, getting around 110km's for 20 liters of gas
Also the clutch sounds like it needs replacing, or it could be the throwout bearing, either way it won't be exciting...
and the turn signals have crapped out on me
Check the TS sockets for corrosion, esp the ground bar in the socket.

the switch is just flopping around like a wet noodle, no clicking or anything
so unfortunately patches is taking a breather while I borrow my dads cavalier, but I have a whole dash from my late-80s parts car including column, so I think I might upgrade it, if at least the column, and then the wipers will finally be intermittent!
Intermittent wipers is 2 parts, the switch and the "timer" You might also find that the late 80's column might have different mounting configurations at the ends of the shaft. Also check or replace the "rag joint" at the end of the column.

well, I have plenty of time to sort out whats gonna work for me now and that rag-joint is definitely going to be assessed, I have read about a lot of people having issues with that
It will never be easier to change than now. They are a pain in the rear to drill apart though, and I used locking nuts on the new one.

okay been a while, but latest news is in, woo
car is still uninsured, but the turn signal is fixed
nothing else has been dealt with, but that is due to a lack of both time and money.
just felt like I needed to put something up, since I freaking love the car.
and also, the latest thing it has been doing, is for some reason the line from my intake to the wastegate has been getting pressured up and not releasing, so the turbo stopped spooling for a while, I thought it was seized, but the I took the hose off and it released the pressure. About a day and a half later, the same thing happened, but I am glad to say it still has plenty of power even running n/a; go four banger power!
I just realized something, I haven't tried to find buck tags or anything of the sort for foxchassis... the search shall begin ASAP!
That situation with no boost has happened to mine several times over the years.
Usually in summertime. Seems when i switch fuel brands, it soon goes back to normal.
Never been able to figure it out. A humbling experience when the turbocharger comes back online.
Mine only came back into play when I pulled the line off the wastegate to release the pressure, and then it would work for a while...
I miss having a turbo on the road so badly right now, climbing tank hill was always so easy in patches. I would peg 4000rpm in second to spool the turbo, then go to 4th gear and let it quietly whistle away at about 1psi while the car pulled 60-120 at 3/4 throttle. My civic requires 3rd gear, full throttle, and 4000rpm the whole way just so it doesn't slow down from 70
Basically, I loooove torque
This isn't a project page without pictures.
well there hasn't been any changes that a picture would show besides a painted valve cover and polished air cleaner... money needs to be acquired first
pictures of top end inspection hopefully coming as soon as I can afford head bolts or studs!!
okay, update of the late-night. put in a couple hours work on the car, making an experimental watercooler for the intake using the factory A/C lines and condensor, testing by idling for a while and checking hose temp to see if there is any difference. Pictures will come when I remember a camera.
Results are in: I have successfully achieved fail. The condenser worked perfectly, coolant coming out is nearly frigid, but I forgot to test the direction of flow. I am now cooling the water that goes from my intake to the heater core. This cools the charge going to my heater, not the other way around (as I had assumed it would)
Oh well maybe if I connect a coiled pipe in-line after the "water-cooler" I can place a cup holder in the middle, and have a mini mini mini fridge for when I am hanging out with my friends.

and the list of gaskets/seals that come with it
Wedgewood Blue interior with optional highback cloth seats, that is the exact same interior as my '80. Best of luck with it and keep plugging away on it. Mine has been under rebuild for 3 years now.
