Changing Speedometer cable - any tips?

Hello everyone. My speedometer has been clicking with speed lately, so I removed the end from the speedo and lubed it, but no change, so I bought a new one and I'm planning on changing it soon. Any tips or tricks I could use? I read through the service manual and it's pretty basic - just remove it, with the grommet and remove the end from the speed sensor and replace. Is it just that easy? From what I've found, nothing's ever that easy

I did the '85 a few weeks ago. Loosened the gauge panel enough to pull out the right side of it so I could get my hand back in there to plug the new cable in. The trans end is even easier, just as the manual states. All in all, about a 30 minute job, with only minimal cussing needed!
