You only have to worry about front wheel clearance if the car is lowered. On the F/Z the HTR 275/40R17, 17x9 BBS RX, '94/'95 spindle, Fox A-arm will touch the center tab for the inner fender when the top of the FLCA is parallel to the ground. On the rear the lip needs to be trimmed, there is quite a bit of flashing that should be removed, and if you have the deluxe side moulding the trim studs will need to be shortened to clear the wider tires.

Cut V8 Springs all the way around, 351w with iron heads in this pics. 245-45-17"s, I never drove it besides a couple times at the farm with these on, but they looked fantastic if you ask me! The offset won't work with my new susp. stuff though, so no dice now.

Stock 98 Cobra springs, 245-45-17's all the way around. 17x8.25" front, +42mm offset, 17x8.5" rear, +48mm offset. I may be swapping the rear centers to the front rims, to suck the front tires a little closer to the struts, and the rear tires out a little more, so the quad shocks will clear.

And I just got done putting the FMS "B" 5300 springs in it last night, I'll get my camera out tonight and take some more pics for you, it looks better now! But the front tires rub a little, I drove it to lunch today. Rides GREAT though!

How much did you cut the springs? I'm putting my LTD LX back together, I cut one coil from the stock front springs, and added poly spring isolaters. Just curious if anyone knows what a good starting point will be for the rears.
I don't usually cut springs, but these are only going to last until I get the coilovers when I sell my mustang next spring.

Thanks -- suspension specs I'm assuming?

Stock 6 cyl front springs with 1/2 coil cut.
Stock replacement 6 cyl fairmont rear springs.
It sat more level without the 27" M/T meats in the back and a full tank of gas. Ken, those are your old parking lenses

    Cool.

What size tires? What's the drive train?

Thanks for the kind words guys. That car was a lot of work...from paint to wiring to drivetrain..(not so much interior lol).

The tires on the front were 225/65/15s if I remember right.
The rears were 255/60/15 M/T street radials.

After losing control and hitting a wall at the dragstrip, the '80 pictured above was laid to rest..... which prompted me to build it's decendant, a '79 with a better drivetrain (see sig):

You guy have some awesome cars. Here is a pic of my 1979 Fairmont wagon. I think someone on here named Zachrey built it and then sold it to someone else. I bought it from a guy named Matt. It has factory 17X8 on the front and 18X10 American racing wheels on the rear with 275/35R18 on the rear. I was thinking of painting the fronts black or putting the other 2 silver wheels back on the rear. What do you think?
BTW, It has some sort of lowering springs on it(blue) but I just ordered a set of factory 5.0 springs from corral.

Like I said, I bought it this way but I think it has Ranger rear axles and Mark3 front rotors? I'm going to change them today. I will let you know the brand.
