If I were to buy a 1982 notchback roller could I transplant the carpet, engine, 5 speed, seats etc from my 1985 in there? Thanks

About the only thing that won't fit (from an interior standpoint) are the back seats and the rear interior quarter trim panels. Be aware though that if the notchback is an inline 6 cylinder, the K-member/crossmember is different and that will also need to be swapped.

What about a 4 cyl car? Could I still fit most of this stuff to make it work?

    Yes.

The 4cyl interiors typically are not as nice looking but it will still all bolt in. The 4cyl cars usually dont have deluxe interiors unless ordered with it. This usually means cheper seats front and back and cheaper carpet.

The good news is the cheap stuff usually weighs less.
