Default Price drop on the Dallas-area Mexican Mustangs

The prices on these two Mexican Mustangs have been steadily dropping over the many many months that they have been on this used car dealer's lot. They just dropped another thousand, to $3950.

Nice looking but there should be a Cougar GS station wagon in your future.

Rest assured, if things turn for the better, a certain Cougar GS wagon is at the top of the list. I just monitor these Mexican Mustangs because they are semi-local and they are a curiosity to me.

They basically look like Mustangs with Capri rears or visa versa.

Getting closer. If they threw in a paint job for the red one, to put it back original they might get a few more bites.

Price has to drop $1k more at least.

Still at least $1000 too much for either one. They are both much rougher in person than they appear in the pics.

Maybe after I return from vacation, I will make it a point to take a trip to that part of town for purposes of photographing these cars (especially the gray one, which has only a couple of pics on the craigslist ad) and to provide the good people at FEP with my thoughts.

I would appreciate it. I don't know if I'm able to afford the car now, but I would like the tan/red one, or at least to know more about it to satisfy my curiosity. It would be fun to have a Mexican Mustang in WI. It would be guaranteed to baffle just about everyone. Just, it still has to be cheaper. It needs to be tan again and who knows what else is going on so it's definitely a potential money pit.

They were closed when I went by, but I have seen them in person. The gray one, imo, is the cleaner of the two, but both are missing a lot of little things. I get the feeling that the red one has been beat on pretty good somewhere along the way.

I'm still planning on going back and talking with the guys about them, just been busy working on my car the last couple of weeks. Now that the prices are heading down, I'm definitely going to have to get back over there.

We should arrange to meet there, with both of us driving a Capri. Of course, the seller would then think that he has a hot commodity and jack the prices back up to the $8000.

LOL! Either that, or we could convince him that he needs to buy ours for $8000, each. I believe I could be talked into selling this one for that amount! Then I could go get my '84 ASC.

I don't know why there would be. Especially since they are both over 25 years old. These two are already registered in Texas though.

From what I understand registration is easy once they are already in the US. Emissions compliance would probably be whatever it is locally.

I'm pretty sure I would have no trouble with the car if I were to bring it to WI. Hell, you should see the exhaust set up I have on my car now I don't think I can ever move out of WI.
