Default "New" bumper cover + moldings

    Hey all,

Thought you might enjoy some pics of what I picked up for a cool $140 on Tuesday. It was fairly exhausting work, and it rained for a little while, but at the end of the day I walked away with a nearly mint rear bumper cover and molding set for my '85 GT. I mean, sure there's a couple of nicks in some of the moldings, and the bumper has a fixable divot in it, but I thought for the price I might as well take the whole works (don't worry, the car was wrecked and almost picked clean). Which is too bad, as it was an '86 GT with T-Tops.

Before the pics, I'd like to give a shout out to kingstang, GTJerry, escogt, and nuckinfutzracing (haha, liking the name) for the stellar tips in the below thread. Without them, I'd have likely either messed up the parts or had a heck of a time getting them off.

Reed - you picked these up for $140 Canadian (right?). That would make it an even better deal down here!!

Good job. Those moldings look like they are in good shape. I'd suggest that you bind those GT moldings back to back (with a piece of cardboard in between) to keep them from curling at the edges. Others may have some ideas about that as well.

They don't make these any more - nice to have a set in your collection of parts. And I bet you have an application for a couple of those pieces already.

As long as he doesn't take the metal strip out, they won't shrink.
