How about a NO! The cluster themselves are the same for all the 79-86 models but the electric flexible circuit boards are different on the 79-80 clusters. The 79-80 models have a two piece circuit board and the 81-86 models have a 1 piece circuit board. You would need to swap over the two piece circuit board to the 83 cluster or you will fry it.
