Default Finally added an 80 Cobra to my stable!

Today was the big day,I finally have an 80Cobra in my stable About 2years ago a White 80 Cobra turned up in NJ as some of you will remember this car, well it was then I got the idea to get one. After a solid 2 years of searching I ended up with the car that gave me the idea to get one,it sure is strange how things work out.
Last week ED,Esco & myself headed out to PA to see a Cobra I thought was a sure thing, but as it turned out is was'nt Ed had a great idea "lets go see that White 80Cobra that's in upstate NY",well went headed up there to see the car. Thanks for the idea Ed After looking the car over,it was really solid and everything was there untouched, besides the radio. We headed home, talked it over and I gave it some thought during the week. I made a phone call to the owner and made a deal for the car by Thrusday. Trying to figure out how to get this home good old Ed hooked me up with a diehard Ford guy who had a trailer and lived only blocks away from me,so today was pick up day. We headed upstate bright and early, loaded the car up and brought the Cobra to her new home.
I'm very excited to have finally added the 80Cobra it completes my even year collection and 80 was the year I was born so it sure is cool to have a car from that year. The car will go through a Restomod over the next few years. I'm in no rush to get it done as I'm still working on my Coupe but the hard part is done, getting the car.
I will use this thread to update my progress on the car and of course post many pics though the stages.
I have to give a big thanks to Ed for taking the trip upstate, hooking me up with Larry my new buddy and everything else you do for me bud! I also have to give thanks to Chris Lott for your words of wisdom and helping me out with this Cobra hunt, thanks Chris It sure is great to have people like you guys in the hobby Hey Esco thanks for sticking with me through this, your input means alot too

Ok how about some pics of the new Snake,
On the tralier while we were getting some D&D,

    Made it home safe

The interior is'nt to bad at all

An Engine picture, this is my 1st non V8 car but it won't have a 4cyl when finsihed!

Yummy Louvers and there mint! I also love the fact this is a Sunroof non A/C car,how perfect!

Cowl is mint and Marchal covers were even on the car, what a score.

I'm happy to have saved a Cobra, now I feel complete

    Enjoy guys!

I hope it turns out minty,it should be close when done. Red Recaros umm I have plans for some seats but they are not Red Recaros, although all my seats ideas are near impossible to find,I might be sitting on a milk crate for awhile.

Joe, thanks for the kind words. They mean a lot. What was interesting was when we went to check out the other, I had the same feeling about it that you did. I am very glad you're saving this and it will be done right and whatever you need, I'm there bro. Same goes for all my four eyed buds. We will try to save to them all.

Nice Joe, congrats! I can't wait to see it when it's done. I'm sure you'll keep us posted with lots of progress pics? Do you have a timeline? Your coupe seemed to progress rapidly.

Just my humble opinion, but I think you should do a built, fuel injected, intercooled 2.3T. You already have bitchin' v8s. Be different and stay true to the 2.3T that the car came with. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just saying I think it would be waaayyyyy cooler than yet another warmed over v8.

Thanks Jack, you know I was looking for awhile. I really love that Gray 80Cobra near you but the price was way too high. I have no real time frame,I want to take my time and enjoy this project. I do have a good amount of the parts already which is a major plus. My guess would be about 3years or so.

You know I thought about a 2.3 EFI turbo but too be honest I'm not sure I would enjoy it as much as a V8. I have the rear, suspension & wheels already, have a trans setup lined up just need to decide on what motor I want to run,but that's a secret for now I will most likely tackle the interior 1st starting in the Spring. I can see many late nights working on this one,I guess my wife will be happy that I won't be in the house much this season.

Wow- great score Joe! absolutely beautiful color combo. Cant wait to see the progress on this ( although I would rock it as is with no problem). Very nice car and glad to see you got your snake.
