I've seen pictures of both and I'm curious to what are the differences between the two cars? I figure the McLaren is a Capri and the M81 is a Mustang. ANd are they different than regular foxbodies when it comes to suspension and interior?

The McLaren Capri had a specific interior and exterior trim, rims, and maybe suspension.
The M81 Mustang had almost everything specific except frame.

You mean unibody. There are no "frames" in unibody cars.

It's just my opinion, but it does look like the M81 took some styling ques from the Capri; at least when it pertains to the fender flares and the radiator heat exhaust vents. But I may be completly wrong with my observation. BTW, I was lucky enough to see one of those M81's (in person) at a Ford dealership in Sacramento California back in '81.
I wish I had interior shots to compare. Maybe one day I'll get that one in Italy.
