After you pull the bottom up, the back is held on at the bottom with a couple of bolts in the corners. Pull them out, then allow the back to slide down slightly, and three or four tabs slide out of their slots and the top comes free.Remove.Easy.

Thanks Pete, I have to give that a swirl.
BTW I got a quote of (on the phone) of "at least $250" to transfer the skins, they say that there's a lot of work involved given that they're two different year seat designs, how's does that sound?

I only buy from FMR. Just bought a pair of inner dew wipes.

I bought the weatherstrip kit from them. The window channel run strip was the worst to install ever! But I did it to the drivers door and still have the passenger door to do. But when I get the inner dew wipes in I'll toss that in too.

FYI - I just had the torn side of the driver seat on my 88 replaced by an upholstery shop. I cost me $250 just for the one seat, but boy did it turn out nice. Saved me the cost of replacing the entire seat cover, and it was the only damaged piece of upholstery. The rest of the interior is pristine.
