I had water in my oil and flushed it and retightened the intake gaskets. That didn't work so I took the intake off and discovered that it was a head gasket. Freekin (*&%&^$%$#^&
Oh well now I know what the culprit was, but why did it poop a HG in the first place? 150 miles and 10-12 passes. Timing and tune seemed to be fine.

It's been awhile since I updated this thread. I picked up a new set of slicks 28x9's and got a new best of 12.5@110 with a 1.66 60' Now I need to work on the rear suspension and rear end. Planning on a strange 31 splined rear with 9" ends and maybe go up to 4.30 gears. I'll also be adding a Team Z rear kit with new torque box reinforcements and some welding hopefully before spring.

Thanks! How far are you from Gateway? We go on Wednesday nights and maybe an occasional Saturday bracket race.

It weighs 2660 without a driver, but it has been stripped to the bone. I could get a couple more pounds out if I wanted.

2660 with a steel hood, and iron heads, stock gas tank, stock seats... you got to admit, that is pretty sweet though..

thanks for the reply, btw I completely love this coupe.

Wow, I really have not been on here very much. I have been trying to make it up for a Midnight madness, but it never works out. I live about 90 miles south of STL.

Thanks you sir! I still need to finsih the interior, but it's a hell of a lot better than when i got it.
Maybe at the track sometime. With a spool and 4.56 gears it doesn't get driven to many shows. When I get the coyote in it she might be more street friendly.

Thank you! I have to download some pictures to the PC. We have the coyote installed, but I need a few more parts to finish it.

Fidel, it's more like 7 years. I haven't been working on it that much the last 2 years. I've been helping my son with his 84GT. We keep going back and forth with his car. He goes to basic trianing this summer so I want to get it painted to surprise him and reward him for all his hard work.

I'm really happy with the foundation so far. It came from Dalls TX and I got it for $250 + $200 for gas plus it's an original V8 car to boot.
I was reading through your thread, of course I started on the last page first.

I thought this would be a poignant post to bring to the newest with your son going off to basic training. My youngest son is seventeen now. So, somehow this reminds me of my time with him.

    Anyhow, I'll keep reading.
