Hi,
when I bought my project, I had two (I suppose complete) front masks.
One original 79 (cobra).
One Pacecar (80-81 cobra)
I disassembled both !
I took the Front Headlight Header Panel from the 79,
reshaped it, to fit in the pacecar mask and painted it !
(The pacecar panel had cracks)
Now I reassembled the mask (riveted to panel) and so on.
But suddenly I took a side marker lens and in the same box I found a frame for it !
Damn I thought, I forgot to screw it to the panel (before riveting)
One of the two frames is broken, so I thought I must have two for each side (two complete front masks) !
But I couldnīt find the second set !
Then I searched all my pics (over 1300 !!!).
No proof, that I have 2 sets - quite the contrary I found a pic from disassembling the 79 front and the frames were NOT installed !
Then I inspected the headlight panel (the restored one from 79) and
I noticed, that it hasnīt even holes for the screws of the frame !!!
Now Iīm confused !
I thought the frames were used to stabilize the lenses ??!
Now I donīt know what to do ?
Repair the broken one, clean and polish it.
Try to drill some holes in the panel for the screws ?!
Or even bore out the rivets again for those "stupid" frames ?!?!
Or just leave them out ?
What would be "original" ?
Greets and thanks for your opinions !
Oliver
