    Default "New" air cleaner housing

    Hey all,

It's been awhile since I've frequented the site, and I'd like to say first of all, hope y'all had a nice Christmas, and Happy New Year/Decade. The 5.0 is back!!!

While I was home for Christmas, my dad presented me with my air cleaner base that I'd given to him to sandblast and powdercoat at his work. I've gotta say, seeing it in person it looks brand new. Wayyyyy better than it was before, now I just have to restore the factory lid for it and it'll look great. Enjoy!!

It is really nice, I love the look. I went more with the stock look and I had mine powder coated black. It looks stock and cleans up nice. You can see a pic in my album.
But that is a really nice look snorkel you have there!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. All the kudos go to my dad, who really has a knack with the sandblaster/powdercoater (a lot of the parts for his '54 Chevy project got the same treatment).

Now, what about the lid: what is the best way to restore those? I'm thinking of giving it the polished look and then going with a new decal from Matt at FMR. Does the process involve stripping the finish off of it and then polishing it somewhat like the procedure for the 10 hole wheels?

No I haven't even gotten it to the local shop to get blasted yet. Just going to paint it black. But that powdercoating looks pretty cool!
