Starting Problem '04 Mustang

A buddy at work's '04 V6 stang wouldn't start this morning and I told him I would look at it tomorrow. He said the first time he tried starting it there was one loud click, then every time he tried it would just click repeatedly. The way he discribed it I don't think it was the starter making the clicking.

My only guess is the starter, bad solenoid (or whatever new edge's have) or a bad connection going around the battery.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be? Thanks!

Never mind. It was the battery. He told me he tried jumping it and it didn't work, but then tried it again and it did. He had the battery tested and it was bad easy problem.
