finally on to page 2 lol!

so i looked on eastwoods website and found this:

could i just clean the carb and do a coat of self etching primer and then this and then a normal matte clear??

so i decided to make a throttle cable adapter and this is what i have so far along with some others...

got alot done over the past couple days

got the intake back and it looks amazing and gasket matched it
cleaned the gasket surfaces and installed the intake/ fuel line/ spacer and carb

routed/ cleaned most of the wiring/ vacuum lines

i have to figure out how to turn the crank a few degrees to TDC to install the dizzy as there is not enough room really to get a ratchet/socket in the balancer

i had to check the air cleaner/ hood clearance cause of the 1/2" spacer and took a couple pics of it lol

thanks! what are your plans for your engine?

i had to order a new coil bracket (hits the air cleaner) and another pack of studs but hopefully it should be here by the end of the week so i can start and tune it a bit more

got a new coil bracket from summit along with some poly suspension bushings(ball joint-tie rod boots/ offset rack bushings)..

the coil bracket is a ford racing chrome piece for a 64-70 SB ford and work good i have to open up the mounting hole to tighten the coil up a bit more but it clears now so thats the important part.

gotta figure out how to get the stripped stud out of the intake - gonna try fire and a vise grip well see how it goes lol

I built a 306 with GT40P's, TFS Stage 1 cam, Weiand Stealth, and an aluminum Holley 670 Street Avenger. Also have a new Performance Automatic AOD and B&M 2400 stall convertor, and an 8.8 with 4.10's that will be going in once the temp gets above 40 degrees again, lol.

got my new studs for the intake and the rest of the poly bushings i need just missing motor and trans mounts
left to right: tie rod/ ball joint/ offset rack/ carrier/ trans X member

TTT need any ideas to get a thread locked stud out of the head(intake stud) i have fire but not sure if it will work??

threadlocker breaks down at about 400*F ..a torch will work,just keep it to a minimum

im thinking about going from under the stud (driver side front is stripped)

ok so im going a different route and ditching the intake studs and going with allen head bolts

EDIT: also got a set of used 4.30 gears for my 8.8 build

ok got it basically done i do however need a new dizzy cause the rotor turns while in the block...

all that is needed now is to start and time it, then retorque the intake and install the new carb gaskets then the tuning begins: has anyone ever used a wide ban o2 sensor to tune the idle mixture??

well i started installing a radio but its 2* deg. out side and in a unheated garage its not very fun so i got the radio mounted and started planing the front speakers will have pics soon...

ok so i have been researching speedo gears for my 4.30 gears and came up with: in the 2007 ford racing book says a 6t drive gear and a 21t driven gear(on speed sensor)
and late model sells a similar kit with a 6t drive and a 20t driven

i have been trying to come up with something close with the factory 7t drive gear but no one makes a 24t driven gear... does anyone know how to take the tail housing off to change the gear i need to do gear lube so it will be done at the same time?? is there and gaskets i need to get???
