my daughters 2000 v6 cougar s batt. light flashes on but only sometimes. it starts and runs fine ihad the alt. changed 2 years ago and again last month anybody have any ideas? i am lost dont think it is alt again thanks

I wouldn't worry about it if it runs fine.

If memory serves me correctly, the Cougar is the same chassis as the Contour. It's possible your alternator output is borderline. Have someone measure the voltage output with headlights on high, blower fan on high and the radio on. See if the voltage drops after about 20 minutes. People forget about the foglights and stereo amps we add to cars that take extra juice from the battery.
