thank you. i got a slammin deal on it. the interior isn't in that great shape, its all faded, but nothing is broken and no seats or carpet is ripped. and there is a bit of rust showing through now, but it can be taken care of

no sorry i dont, and i can't get any because i have that radio half out, i had planned on putting in a good deck with a 1000w 12" woofer and amp and capacitor but i have decided not to, and now the original radio (which didn't work anyway) is kinda stuck half in and half out

i'm not entirely sure if its a tan interior. it looks more like orange to me. does tan go orange from sun fading? maybe the interior was brown and it faded to orange? i dont know. i haven't found anyone that could successfully decode my vin for me, most of the vin checkers won't take it cause its pre 1989

I dont know how close my car was to yours from the factory. My interior has all been spray painted black by some hillbilly. my door panels look tan but when my dash is apart it looks like an orange color like whats on the bottom of your doors. I guess a marti report or a smart feller on here could tell you what the correct color name of your interior would be

Interior: I pulled my factory literature to refresh my memory. Note I'm referencing 79 Mustang literature, which is often representative of 79 Capris, but not always. In any case, there was a paint color called Light Chamois. There also was a vinyl roof color called Light Chamois. And there was an interior color called Chamois. One picture in the brochure is a dead ringer for your interior. So I'm sure that is what you have.

As far as fading, my blue interior, 30 years later, is made up of many shades of blue. Different cloth, vinyl, and plastic components have faded differently. That is with the car having been garaged 95% of its life.

If it was mine, I'd keep the interior as-is. Lots of people have gray and black, yours is unique. The other very unique interior color in 79 was something called Vaquero, which was a burnt red. This color has some similarity to the seat color in King Ranch pickups.

I used to own a 79 capri rs and one day I took a friend home from work. he is a big guy 6'3 and a bit heavy. We got to his house and he was like oh crap how do I get out. I said its near your ankles and he said oh crap I can reach it. I was laughing so hard that he started to as well. But then I eventually had to go and open the door from the outside because that poor big guy couldn't get out, haha. he look like a wild animal that was captured and couldn't get out and he was freaking out, haha. he had the DUH look on his face

I have to agree, dare to be different, your color may not be as desirable as the gray interior car, but that's what make your car yours. But if you are going to change the interior anyway, gray is the way to go

That interior is the same as the one I had in my 79 Mustang Ghia. I didn't have the console and I had the matching cruise steering wheel, but it was the same color with the velour seats and door inserts. Funny thing is mine looked just as faded and dirty 25 years ago as yours does today. I still have a soft spot for this color

Great looking car. Love those wheels you have on it in the above pictures. I just bought a set almost identical but mine are Pacer's. They look really good on your car.

thanks man. ya i quite like those wheels myself. i bought them off a guy i know through a local mustang forum, he bought them for his mustang then wrecked it but never got around to installing the wheels. they are mint. no blemishes or damage at all. they need a polishing for sure. i have the Mother's Speed Ball and Mother's Mag wheel polish so thats a project for either this winter or next spring
