the actuators are pop rivited. use a dremal tool, or drill on the side of the door. put duct tape around it so you don"t scratch the paint.
According to the Ford service manual the lock actuators are attached to the latch mechanism.
Actuator, Power Door Lock

Position window glass in the up position.
Remove the front or rear door latch assembly as described.
Remove RH or LH door ajar switch from the door latch as described.
Using a flat-blade screwdriver, gently pry up the locking tab and slide the adjunct power door latch actuator off the door latch.
Installation
NOTE: The adjunct power door latch actuator must be installed BEFORE the door ajar switch is installed.
Engage one end of the adjunct power door latch actuator to the channel on the door latch.
Press down on actuator to engage the other end of the actuator to its channel on the door latch.
Slide the actuator onto the door latch, while making sure that the pin on the actuator engages through the yellow bushing on the arm of the latch properly, until actuator clicks into place.
Follow front or rear door latch removal procedure in reverse order. Tighten door latch retaining screws to 10-14 Nm (89-123 lb-in).
they are held to the door by a pop rivet on the 89 i had. that will need to be removed and also should be the last thing to install. i replaced them on my 89(green car in album) and they werent that hard now the process for an 87 and up could and probably is different from pre 87
