    Default factory 351w capri??

    hi first off i am new to the site and long time fox nut
    well to the point i was down at my bank last week and just wounderd what my capri was worth so i asked well i know my car is not a 351 car but on there books it could have been an option witch i have never heard of for factory foxs or is it ??? o by the way its got one now

    351W was never an option in ANY Fox.

    "Fox4" was a nickname used by the engineers because it shared many parts with the Fox platform and it was to be used beginning in the '94 model year. It is not the official or "technical" name of the platform. It is a nickname.

    SN95 is the official name of the platform.

    Let's put it this way, the Mercury Capri never came with a 351W

    Roush built a prototype aero Mustang with a twin-turbo 351W but Ford nixed it for production. The '93 Cobra borrowed a few features from it.

    Any NADA book, website, magazine, etc. that says a 351W was optional in a Capri, or any other Fox (there's no "4" on the end of that word), is flat-out wrong.

    the 255v8 / 302v8 / 351h.o.v8 / 351v8 / 4 banger / and 6 banger are all motor options for an 81 merc capri on N.A.D.A how is this possible if you all say its not and this is a company that looks over all the loans and cars of the whole country and all the banks use anser that one

    There was no 351 H.O. in 1981 Capris.
    There was no LS Package for 1981 Capris.

    NADA is way out in left field.

    No. They way out in left field with Mustangs too.....

    1983 Mustang Turbo GT --- which could only come with a turbocharged 2.3L engine -- NADA Guides.com has check boxes for:

    302/132 HP V8 engine
    302/157 HP V8 engine
    4 cylinder engine
    6 cylinder engine

    There was no 302 in the 1983 Turbo GT.
    There was no 302 rated at 132 HP in any year.
    The only 302 rated at 157 HP was in '82.
    There was no 6-cylinder engine in the 1983 Turbo GT.

    Go to AutoZone.com or AdvanceAutoParts.com or Murrays.com or any auto parts website and see what engines are available for the 1981 Mustang and Capri. They sell parts for these cars so they have a pretty good idea what engines came in them. N.A.D.A. is wrong which is unfortunate.
