The trans guy says it may be a sticking valve or the accumulater(??) hopefully it won't be to hard on my wallet.
Ford had a recall on that little plastic bushing for some model years. I would suggest for anyone with an AOD setup that uses this bushing to buy the bronze colored metal one that most Mustang vendors sell. At $5 or under it it CHEAP insurance against a similiar scenario as this and takes 2 minutes to change at most.

Good luck with the tranny, hope it all works out.

Well my babys back home and running better than ever!! I found probably the nicest transmission guy ever, and he's so close he's practically in my back yard LOL. The car need a new shift valve, the guy diagnosed the exact problem for free!! The total for the job was $510, including the new valve, filter replacement, fluid change, and new gaskets. I'm not complaining since I was so worried I was looking at a $1,500 complete rebuild!!! Anyway, the car is butta now, better than when I bought it. The guy even let me drive it (by myself, no less) before I payed to make sure I was completely satisfied. Did I mention he finished the job while I was at work and was prepared to stay past business hours to make sure I got my car back today?? Awesome!!! I am very pleased!! And so happy my car's back!!!!

I've always said that if you find a good, trustworthy mechanic, treat him like he's your family doctor.

Did you happen to ask him for his opinion on flushing transmissions?

Yes I did and he too was against it. He said he'd much rather drain the trans and converter and then refill and replace the filter and gaskets.

How the hell do you drain the converter without removing the tranny?

You can't that I know of. I'm guessing he pulls the trans from the engine to drop it and drain it, but I didn't really get into detail with him on the subject. What I got from it is basically he prefers to dissasemble and drain rather than stick it on a machine and flush it.
